
Intern with the Spence Congressional Campaign!
We're offering an internship program in Data, Policy, Field, Finance, Communications, and Legal.
SPRING, SUMMER, & FALL
Interns are invited to high-profile events, introduced to influential mentors, and supported professionally throughout the program to secure their next internship or job.
What You'll Do
Data Intern
Supports voter data management and analysis, helping the Spence Campaign track outreach, evaluate strategy, and make data-informed decisions.
Finance Intern
Supports fundraising operations by tracking donations, assisting with donor outreach, and helping organize finance events and compliance records.
Policy Intern
Researches policy issues, drafts memos and talking points, and helps translate complex issues into clear, voter-focused positions.
Communications Intern
Helps craft the campaign’s message through social media, press support, content creation, and rapid-response communications.
Field Intern
Assists with voter outreach efforts including canvassing, phone banking, volunteer coordination, and community engagement.
Legal Intern
Assists with election law research, compliance, and documentation to ensure campaign activities follow all legal and ethical guidelines.

What We're Looking For

Strong interest in public service, civic engagement, or the political process

Commitment to the Spence Campaign's mission and values
-
Reliable, professional, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
-
Willingness to learn, take initiative, and work collaboratively as part of a team
-
Strong communication skills (written and verbal), appropriate to the role
-
Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with discretion
-
Basic computer literacy (email, documents, spreadsheets, and digital tools)
-
Flexible availability, including occasional evenings or weekends as needed

Eligibility to work in the United States

In college or recent graduate (one year since graduation)

Need to be at least 18 years of age

Preferred (But Not Required)

Coursework or experience related to politics, communications, data, law, finance, or community organizing

Experience with volunteer work, student organizations, or advocacy efforts
-
Familiarity with Sarasota, Charlotte, or Lee County

Our internship program is unpaid at this time.
College Credit, Independent Study Project (ISP), Tutorial, Thesis, & Other Academic Support
Our team will work with you to achieve academic credit for the internship, if possible, or adjust the internship to fit the needs of an academic project like an independent study project (ISP), tutorial, or thesis. Credit is based on your school’s specific policy, and we can provide any necessary documents.
