NewsBreak: I have better plan for you than Steube

Families across Florida’s Suncoast are being squeezed by higher prices and stagnant wages, and Washington’s choices are making it worse. The tariff taxes championed by Donald Trump and parroted by Rep. Greg Steube function as a tax on people. These taxes implemented by Steube and Trump are the largest tax increase on the American people since the 1960s.

Tourism is the lifeblood of Sarasota, Charlotte, and Lee counties. When Steube and Trump trade in division and insult our allies, international visitors notice, and they choose to go elsewhere. There are plenty of places that will welcome them. We need representatives who build bridges abroad so our economy thrives at home. Every tax dollar that a foreign tourist pays here is one less tax dollar sourced from you.

Steube has also failed to address Social Security and Medicare. After six-plus years in office, Rep. Steube has offered no credible plan to secure these programs for today’s retirees and workers. Unlike Steube, I have a plan of reforms that will protect benefits, strengthen solvency, and keep our promises, doesn’t change future benefits and doesn’t shift costs onto seniors.

Steube talks tough but delivers higher costs, culture-war distractions, and politics of retribution. He is so embarrassed by his record he refuses to hold a town hall to speak with his constituents.
