Peter Imhoff endorses Allen Spence for Congress

Former President of Sarasota County Stonewall Democrats and Sarasota-Manatee Young Democrats backs Spence in bid for Congressional District 17

SARASOTA, Fla. (June 29, 2026) — Peter Imhoff, Sarasota County Delegate to the 2024 Democratic National Convention and former president of both the Stonewall Democratic Caucus of Sarasota County and the Sarasota-Manatee Young Democrats, today announced his endorsement of Allen Spence for Congress, praising Spence's commitment to protecting Social Security, amplifying young voices and uniting Floridians around solutions to the affordability crisis.

Imhoff's endorsement follows last week's joint endorsement of Spence by Manny Lopez and Andrea Doria Kale, the two most recent Democratic nominees for Florida's 17th Congressional District, further demonstrating growing support for Spence's campaign across the Democratic coalition.

"As a young Democrat, I know our generation has a responsibility to stand up for the promises made to our parents and grandparents, especially Social Security," said Imhoff. "Allen Spence understands that protecting Social Security isn't just about today's retirees. It's about honoring our commitment to future generations. He also believes young people deserve a real voice in shaping our country's future, and he's been willing to listen, engage and lead. That's why I'm proud to endorse Allen Spence for Congress."
